California Governance
Pursuant to CMS regulation, the HSAG Board of Directors must include:
- Representatives from a variety of health care settings.
- At least one consumer representative.
- A membership under which at least two-thirds of its members are independent and have not
been compensated by the QIO for non-governing body services.
- A membership of which officers comprise no more than 20 percent.
- A cap on consecutive governing body member service time of six years. One member can be exempt
from the six-year term, but no board member may exceed nine consecutive years of board service. The composition of HSAG's Board of Directors is as follows:

Each board member is reimbursed $1,000 per quarterly meeting attended.
