HSAG Medicare Consumer
Advisory Council Activities
current | archive
Date: April 5, 2004
Task: HSAG and other QIOs across the nation are
participating in the development of the PBS documentary Remaking
American Medicine -- a four-part series with major funding
provided by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, scheduled for
broadcast in the fall of 2005.
Remaking American Medicine is ambitious in scope, journeying
across the nation to follow an array of pioneering individuals
and institutions as they work to bridge the health care “quality
chasm”. It is a compelling story told through the eyes of clinicians,
medical educators, administrators and patients, showing their
struggles, their setbacks and their victories.
The project is still in the early development stages and there
is time to contribute script and story ideas.
Action: Please review the PBS Primer (PDF,
165K) and be prepared to discuss at the April
22, 2004 meeting.
Date: April 2004
Task: The Hispanic Roll-Out of Home Health Compare
will occur early in 2004 (end of Q1, beginning of Q2). Please
advise on: 1) recommended strategies for achieving the greatest
ROI on communication efforts; 2) recommended tactics; and 3) any
other recommendations or considerations to assure success in the
campaign. Success will be measured by traffic to www.medicare.gov
and calls to 1-800-MEDICARE regarding Home Health Compare.
Action: Please bring ideas to discuss at the April
22, 2004 meeting or respond to Bill
Staples at your convenience. |
