The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is now requiring hospitals to report central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) data using the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). In order to support hospitals in meeting that requirement, the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC)—Grand Canyon Chapter; HSAG; the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA); the Arizona Department of Public Health (ADHS); and Scottsdale Healthcare have developed a WebEx training series. This series includes step-by-step instructions for NHSN enrollment, NHSN set-up, and CLASBI reporting.
Although these materials were created in Arizona, they can be used by California hospitals to meet these new reqirements.
