Manager
Service Line: Surveys, Research & Analysis

OVERALL SHORT DESCRIPTION
Under limited supervision, plans and
conducts a comprehensive array of oversight activities for the
CAHPS Hospital Survey (HCAHPS) project, including on-site visits
to survey vendors and participating hospitals and review of
Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans and conducts on-site visits (including data audits) to
participating survey vendors and hospitals. Functions as a team
lead as assigned.
- Reviews and disposition QAPs for survey vendors and
participating hospitals, and provides assistance and guidance to
hospitals and survey vendors in QAP development.
- Implements and conducts other oversight activities, such as
teleconferences, reviews of quality issues, etc.
- Prepares written reports, summaries, and materials to document
findings of review activities.
- Updates relevant sections of the Quality Assurance Guidelines
and participates in training activities.
- Provides technical assistance in response to inquiries from
survey vendors and participating hospitals.
- Collaborates with CMS, HCAHPS partners, and team members in
the development and implementation of all oversight activities.
- Performs other project tasks as assigned.

This position is accountable for the timeliness, completeness,
accuracy, and quality of all assigned functions, tasks, and work
products.
WORK CONDITIONS
Office/Administrative work. In this position, the
employee is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/COMPETENCIES

Ability to
sit and use a computer terminal for extended periods of time.

Ability to
work independently with minimal direction and communicate with team
members on a regular basis.

Ability to
communicate face-to-face and through telecommunications and written
correspondence with individuals using the English language.

Ability to
understand presentation information.

Ability to
travel occasionally by motor vehicle and/or aircraft.

Ability to
adhere to established company confidentiality policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Master's degree in
business, health related field, or other related discipline with a
least five to seven years experience in the health care field
preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Previous experience
in conducting audits and other quality review activities in a health
care setting preferred.

Excellent
verbal/written communication skills, including formal presentation
skills.

Proficient with
word processing, spreadsheet programs, and database programs
(Microsoft Office)

Basic knowledge of
survey research and design and survey administration practices.
