Manager
Service Line: Surveys, Research & Analysis
Status: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, plans,
coordinates, and conducts oversight activities for the CAHPS
Hospital Survey project. Provides support for other activities as
required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates with participating
hospitals, survey vendors, partner organizations, health care
associations, and CMS staff to coordinate HCAHPS oversight
activities.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents
Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) for hospitals and survey vendors.
Provides assistance and guidance to hospitals and survey vendors
in QAP development.
- Coordinates and conducts data
audits and site visits to selected participating vendors and
hospitals.
- Collaborates with other staff
members to identify systems and process issues (i.e.,
program/policy, data discrepancies, data submission problems,
etc.). Identifies root causes and develops and implements
resolutions.
- Prepares clear and complete
project documentation, including flow charts, procedure
documents, meeting minutes, and technical reports. Presents
findings as appropriate.
- Participates in project
teleconferences.
- Participates in training
activities.
- Responds to concerns and
requests for information from partner agencies, hospitals, and
survey vendors.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of all assigned
functions and tasks.
WORK CONDITIONS
Office/technical work. In this position, the employee
is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/COMPETENCIES

Ability to use and
sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.

Ability to work
independently with minimal direction.

Ability to
communicate face-to-face, through telecommunications, and in written
correspondence with individuals using the English language.

Ability to
understand presentation information.

Ability to travel
occasionally by motor vehicle and/or aircraft.

Ability to adhere to
established company confidentiality policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Master's degree in health, health statistics, or related discipline
with at least seven years experience in the health care field
preferred.

Experience facilitating interagency
partnerships.

Experience in the creation and
management of health care databases.
-
Strong verbal/written communication
skills, including formal presentation skills.

Basic knowledge of statistics,
survey research, and research design.

Basic understanding of statistical
programming.
-
Basic proficiency with word
processing and spreadsheet programs.
-
Knowledge of health care data.
-
Basic knowledge of key health care
agencies and associations.
