Health Services Advisory Group, Inc. (HSAG), the quality improvement organization (QIO) for Arizona, is relocating to new headquarters effective July 26 to better serve its customers. HSAG’s new offices are only a few miles from its current location at 1600 East Northern, Phoenix.

RAND Corporation, Health Services Advisory Group, Inc., Awarded Contract for the National Implementation of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans CAHPS® Survey

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has recently awarded a contract to RAND Corporation, with a subcontract to HSAG, for the National Implementation of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plan CAHPS Survey. The contract is effective September 30, 2009, and extends through September 29, 2010, with one option year for extension. This project will develop detailed data collection guidelines, training materials and procedures, data submission guidelines, a data submission tool, and other materials and procedures as necessary.
CMS is committed to measuring and reporting information from the consumer perspective for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans. The Medicare CAHPS surveys employ self-reported sets of questionnaires designed to assess the experiences of the Medicare enrollees.
Beginning in 2011, CMS will require all Medicare Advantage and Part D contracts with enrollees of 600 or more to contract with approved survey vendors to collect and report CAHPS survey data following the protocols established by CMS.
