MAXIMUS (NYSE:MMS) announces the signing of a $24.5 million contract with the Department of Defense (DoD) for Tricare National Quality Monitoring Services. The contract involves an initial six-month phase in period, followed by five one-year option periods.

MAXIMUS will assist DoD Health Affairs, the Tricare Management Activity (TMA), military hospitals, and TMA regional offices by providing an independent, impartial evaluation of the care provided to beneficiaries within the nation's Military Health System.

MAXIMUS, in partnership with its subcontractor, Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG), will review care provided by certain Designated Providers under the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan, the seven current TMA managed care support contractors, and the next generation of managed care support contractors.
