Health Services Advisory Group "Transforming" Corporate Identity

Health Services Advisory Group, the Medicare Quality
Improvement Organization (QIO) of Arizona, has unveiled a new corporate logo
that reflects the ongoing changes within the company and with Medicare's efforts
to improve the quality of health care.

The new brand direction is inspired in part by principles
guiding Medicare's 8th Scope of Work, which will help providers across the nation achieve "Transformational Change." The Medicare "Scopes of
Work" take the form of contracts with QIOs to guide the improvement of care. The
8th Scope contract is effective from 2005 to 2008.
"This new logo is a key part of the ongoing change
experienced at HSAG," said Dr. Herb Rigberg, chief executive officer. "We are
working with the Medicare QIO concept of Transformational Change in health care
and moving ahead with our own culture change within the organization. We want to
keep the roots of our 25 years of experience, but continue to change with the
times."
Both HSAG and its sister organization, FMQAI, the Medicare
QIO of Florida, he said, are demonstrating a commitment to achieving
"Transformational Change" by assessing and changing their cultures. The new
brand direction is a symbol of this commitment.
The QIO goal of "Transformational Change" is to help create
a health care system that "delivers the right care for every person every time"
and where care meets the six aims of the Institute of Medicine as: safe,
effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.
The "Transformational Change" platform is based on four key
strategies to help providers: measure and report performance, adopt and
effectively use information technology, redesign care processes, and change
organizational culture.
"The new logo incorporates forward motion in the slant of
the letters and in the swirls above and below the HSAG name," said Frank Lopez,
chief communications officer. "We believe this logo better conveys an image of
HSAG as a 21st century, forward-thinking company."
