Overview
PBS Remaking American Medicine Hispanic/Latino
Focus
HSAG has been awarded special funding from the U.S. Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to assist in promoting
a four-part public television series entitled Remaking American
Medicine (RAM), which is scheduled to air on PBS stations
in 2005-2006. Led by Lumetra, the Quality Improvement Organization
for the state of California, the project is aimed at building
local coalitions to support the broadcast as well as showcasing
innovative work QIOs are doing in reaching out to underserved
populations in their communities. HSAG will highlight diabetic
care quality improvement efforts in Arizona's hispanic population.

Identification and Synthesis of Components Essential
to Achieving 'High Performer' Status in Various Provider Types
The purpose of the “High Performer” study is to identify
and study high performing providers and share study findings with
QIOs and providers-at-large in an attempt to change behavior and
enhance organizational performance. Learn

Measure Management Special Study
The objective of the Measure Management study is to assist CMS in
developing and implementing a management system that will produce
and maintain quality measures across all settings.
Best Practice Methods
On the "Best Practice Methods" study, HSAG works with
Qualis Health to assist CMS and the QIO community in answering
questions regarding best practice interventions used by external
change agents to influence health care providers.
Coordination of the National Implementation of the Hospital
CAHPS (HCAHPS) Survey
HSAG is collaborating with the National Committee for Quality
Assurance (NCQA), RAND, Westat, and expert consultants from the
Harvard Medical School to design and implement a strategy for
the national implementation of the HCAHPS.
