In recent years, opioid-related overdoses have been declared an epidemic in the United States, one that requires health care professionals to take an active role in solving the problem. A years ago, Vizient™ initiated a call to action on opioids to help members join together to address this issue of national importance. Through our efforts, we have been showcasing various subject matter and member experts, developing a resource compendium and bringing members together across Vizient to improve care through better opioid stewardship.
We are pleased to offer a new series offered by the Vizient Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) on opioid management. Join us for our three-part series, where we explore the many facets of this complex issue, including how to balance patient-centered care with the tenet of “First, do no harm,” as well as offer compelling patient stories and examples of innovative collaborations across the care continuum.
The first webinar of this series will explore the latest guidelines for pain management and prescribing opioids in both the acute and primary care settings. We will hear implementation examples of these guidelines and standards.
