Title: Sepsis: Across the Continuum of Care Webinar—Sepsis in Older Adults
People over 65 years old, particularly those who have health issues, are more susceptible to sepsis than any other group. According to a study published in 2006, while people aged 65 years and older make up about 12 percent of the American population, they make up 65 percent of sepsis cases in the hospitals. This session will discuss the pre-acute phase from symptom onset to diagnosis and associated patient and caregiver experiences with symptom appraisal, self-management, barriers, and inter-personal interactions.
