Creating a methodology to improve the timely recognition and treatment of pediatric sepsis does not fall short of complexities. Identifying key pediatric clinical criteria, used to develop effective electronic alerts and defining technical challenges and validation strategies required for optimal alert performance, are just the beginning. Nurses play an integral role in the process of rapid identification and interventions for the pediatric sepsis patient. Beth Wathen and Wendi Redfern, critical care nursing leaders and 2017 winners of the Sepsis Alliance Erin K. Flatley Pediatric Sepsis Award, will join Children’s Hospital Association in discussing the challenges and potentials for that role. In addition, they will share their strategies to improve pediatric sepsis recognition and treatment at their respective institutions.
1.0 hour of Continuing Nursing Education Credit will be awarded for CHA member hospitals attending this live event.
This webinar is open to CHA member hospitals and pediatric sepsis clinicians in community hospitals focused on improving patient outcomes. There is no fee to attend.
