This week’s Patient and Family Engagement Contractor (PFEC) learning event titled “Revisiting Shift Change Huddles and Bedside Reporting: New Perspectives," focused on PFE Metric 2. This learning event was designed to help HIINs and hospitals bring together patients and families with hospital leaders and staff to collaborate on designing and implementing effective huddles and bedside reporting as a regular part of patient care to improve patient safety. More specifically, the event provided an overview of PFE Metric 2 and its associated benefits with hospital quality and safety; shared examples of hospitals that have overcome barriers and successfully implemented PFE Metric 2; and, provided tools and resources to support implementation of the metric. The event featured representatives from a HIIN and a hospital, Evangelical Community Hospital (a member of The Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania HIIN).
Please see the PFEC’s next HIINgagement monthly newsletter for a full summary of this event.
