Summary from 4/4 Pacing Event: “An Update on Antibiotic Stewardship: Progress, Resources, and Exploring Stewardship Strategies for Antibiotics and Opioids”
This Pacing Event discussed progress made in the uptake of the CDC’s Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs and provided an update on the CDC resources available to HIINs and hospitals for driving success in the reduction of harms such as C. diff and MRSA. In addition, this session explored similarities and differences in stewardship efforts related to antibiotics and opioids. Speakers discussed current thinking around the overlap between these and how hospitals are leveraging antibiotic stewardship successes in their work to address pain management.
