Summary
With minimal direction from the executive director or director, the Senior Project Manager oversees designated Medicaid Services (MS) projects through various stages including: Client relations, assistance, and guidance; recruitment selection, orientation, training, and supervision of subordinate staff; project initiation, planning, and ongoing oversight; organization, participation in, and completion of field work; report preparation and finalization; and budget monitoring in coordination with the executive director.
Essential Competencies, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Participates in external quality reviews of managed care entities based on state, federal, request for proposals (RFPs)/contract requirements including, but not limited to, documentation desk review, network capacity review, staffing review, report writing and follow-up.
- Participates in onsite readiness reviews (travel required).
- May serve as lead for collaborative quality improvement project facilitation with multiple stakeholders, e.g., state Medicaid agencies, managed care plans, hospitals.
- May serve as lead project coordinator for educational activities, e.g., conferences, by assisting with program content development, expert speaker identification and engagement, securing continuing education units for participants, etc.
- Project deadlines may necessitate occasional extended work hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- At least ten years of experience as a healthcare professional with a master’s degree in an appropriate field and/or a combination or comparable experience and education.
- Experience in healthcare quality and/or managed care preferred.
Other Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to rapidly adjust priorities, work to imminent deadlines, and apply multi-tasking skills to coordinate projects with overlapping and/or simultaneously occurring timeframes.
- Experience in analytics preferred, e.g., database and spreadsheet functionality (Excel, Access, Quest, etc.)
- Experience and knowledge of quality improvement practices.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Effective and positive human relations skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality, to appropriately interface with all levels of Health Services Advisory Group administration/staff and clients.
- Proficiency with Windows environments.
