Incontinence among long-stay, low-risk nursing home residents is one of the largest contributors to the quality measure composite score. Tackling this important quality indicator can help many nursing homes achieve the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) composite score goal of 6 percent or less and improve the quality of life for residents. This webinar will discuss how incontinence affects the composite score and will provide tools and resources nursing homes can use to improve this quality measure. During this webinar we will:
- Examine how the incontinence quality measure affects the nursing home composite score (percent of low-risk resident who lose control of their bowel or bladder [long-stay]).
- Identify tools and resources that are available to help nursing home staff members decrease incontinence among residents.
- Discuss successful incontinence strategies used by nursing homes to improve resident care.
