Genetic Hyperglycemia Tied to Increased Coronary Artery Disease

Researchers have discovered a genetic link predisposing certain individuals for hyperglycemia also increases their chances of developing coronary artery disease. A slight increase in fasting glucose suggested a 43 percent increased risk for the development of coronary artery disease among patients with a predisposition for hyperglycemia.
