University of Utah researchers developed an app to help people with diabetes positively change their views of exercise and to increase their physical activity. The Journal of Medical Internet Research published study results concerning use of the app, showing that the app increased users’ plans to walk for exercise in the next week by 33.5 minutes. The app helped 1,335 study participants accurately see how exercise affects their blood sugar levels. The average age of the patient was 59.8 years old, with the majority being white and female, and in the lower income bracket. Read more about the app study at the article.
