The lack of female representation in heart failure, coronary artery disease, and acute coronary syndrome clinical trials limits study result application to women. The Journal of the American College of Cardiology reported this disparity, while also noting that women are proportionately or overrepresented in hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and pulmonary arterial hypertension studies.
