The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have created a guideline concerning opioid prescriptions for chronic pain. The two-page fact sheet guideline is intended to improve communication between providers and patients about the risks of opioid therapy for chronic pain, improve the safety and effectiveness of opioid treatment, while also reducing the risks of use disorder and overdose.
