A recent poll undertaken by Smartlink Health Solutions of 438 physicians, practice managers, and health system executives revealed that almost half of those who expect to participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) will likely participate for a full year. Moreover, 41 percent of physician group respondents have started a Chronic Care Management Program (CCM) that meets the requirements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Interestingly, while CCM awareness and participation has gone up, many physician groups lack a clear understanding how CCM supports MACRA.
