Smoking Cessation Counseling Successful When Paired with Lung Cancer Screening

Georgetown University Medical Center published the results from its randomized clinical study of 92 subjects showing that telephone-based smoking cessation counseling provided to smokers after undergoing lung cancer screening can be effective in achieving smoking cessation. These promising results have spurred an expanded study, set to enroll 1,300 patients at five medical centers nationwide. Read more about it at ScienceDaily.
