FMQAI has officially merged with and adopted the name of Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG). Since 2003, HSAG and FMQAI have worked together as two wholly owned subsidiaries to deliver quality improvement interventions to healthcare providers in Florida. Our merger was motivated by the restructuring of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Program. This new structure separates traditional quality improvement activities and case review/monitoring activities into two distinct contracts: Quality Innovation Network-QIOs (QIN-QIOs) and Beneficiary and Family-Centered Care-QIOs. These changes were implemented to improve patient care and health outcomes, and save taxpayer resources. Until this restructure, FMQAI and HSAG's QIO contracts had included work in both of these areas.

HSAG management and the majority of staff members remain the same in Tampa and will continue their long-standing, successful work in improving the quality of care provided to:

  • Medicare beneficiaries as part of the QIN-QIO.
  • Dialysis patients in the End Stage Renal Disease Networks of Florida (Network 7), Southern California (Network 18), and Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana (Network 13).
  • Outpatient hospital facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, and inpatient hospitals as the national support contractor.
